How To Make Roasted Duck Breast with Plum Sauce
Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 duck breast halves
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup plum sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
-
Score the skin of the duck breast in a crisscross pattern and season with salt and pepper.
-
Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat and add the vegetable oil.
-
Place the duck breasts, skin side down, in the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until the skin is crisp and golden brown.
-
Flip the duck breasts and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
-
Roast for 12-15 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.
-
Remove the duck from the oven and transfer to a cutting board. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
-
In a small saucepan, combine the plum sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic. Heat over medium-low heat until warmed through.
-
Slice the duck breast and serve with the plum sauce drizzled on top. Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired.
