Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat sugar and water over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.

  2. Increase heat to high and let boil without stirring until the mixture turns a deep amber color, 6-8 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and add butter, cream, vanilla extract, and salt, stirring until smooth.

  4. Let cool to room temperature before using.
