How To Make Fragrant Mango & Apple Chutney

Ingredients
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped
- 2 apples, peeled and chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt, to taste
Instructions

In a saucepan, heat some oil and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.

Once they start spluttering, add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Saute until the onion turns translucent.

Add turmeric powder and chili flakes. Cook for another minute.

Add the chopped mangoes, apples, vinegar, brown sugar, lemon juice, and salt. Stir well.

Simmer the mixture on low heat for 30-40 minutes, until the chutney thickens.

Remove from heat and let it cool.

Transfer the chutney to sterilized jars and store in the refrigerator.
