How To Make Caramelised Red Onion Chutney

Ingredients
- 4 red onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions

Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Add the sliced onions and cook until soft and translucent, about 10 minutes.

Sprinkle the brown sugar over the onions and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved.

Reduce the heat to low and add the balsamic vinegar and salt. Stir well to combine.

Simmer the chutney for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized and the mixture has thickened.

Allow the chutney to cool before serving. Transfer to a jar or container and store in the refrigerator.
