Ingredients
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Gruyere cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper over medium heat until it comes to a simmer.

Remove from heat and let the cream mixture sit for 5 minutes to infuse the garlic flavor.

Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes.

Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cream mixture, making sure all the potatoes are evenly coated.

Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

Remove the foil and sprinkle the grated Gruyere cheese on top. Drizzle with melted butter.

Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are golden and fork-tender.

Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes before serving.
