- 2 cups dried pinto beans
- 4 cups water
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- Optional toppings: chopped cilantro, diced onion, shredded cheese, sour cream
Instructions

Rinse the pinto beans under cold water and remove any debris.

Add the rinsed beans, water, onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and bay leaf to the Instant Pot.

Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to cook on high pressure for 45 minutes.

Once the cooking time is complete, allow for a natural release for 10 minutes, then carefully release any remaining pressure.

Remove the bay leaf and adjust the seasoning if needed.
