A savory stuffing with tart cranberries, sweet apples, and crunchy walnuts.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 cups cubed bread (leave out overnight to stale)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1 apple, chopped
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups vegetable or chicken broth
- 3 tbsp butter
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Melt butter in a large skillet on medium heat.

Add onion and garlic and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add chopped apple, dried cranberries, and walnuts. Mix well.

Add dried sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Add bread cubes and stir until coated and slightly toasted.

Gradually pour in broth while stirring until the mixture is moist but not too wet.

Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13 baking dish.

Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.

Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until golden brown on top.
