How To Make Thanksgiving Broccoli Casserole Recipe

A creamy and cheesy broccoli casserole, a perfect Thanksgiving side dish!

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Cook broccoli in boiling salted water for 5-7 minutes or until tender.

  3. In a separate skillet, sauté onion and garlic with butter until soft.

  4. Add flour and stir for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until thickened.

  5. Remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted.

  6. Drain broccoli and add to cheese mixture. Mix well.

  7. Pour into a greased 2 quart baking dish and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

  8. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
