How To Make Lentil Soup Recipe
A hearty and filling soup made with lentils, vegetables, and spices.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown or green lentils
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 medium carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 3 cups vegetable or chicken broth
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions

Rinse lentils, remove debris and set aside.

Heat oil in a large pot, add onion and garlic. Sauté for 2 minutes.

Add chopped celery, carrots, and cook for 5 minutes.

Add cumin, coriander, smoked paprika, and cook for 1 minute.

Add broth, lentils, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine, and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, or until lentils are tender.

Adjust seasoning as needed and serve hot.
