How To Make Classic Samosa
A crispy and delicious Indian snack filled with spiced potatoes and peas.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and oil. Slowly add in water and knead the dough to form a smooth ball. Set aside for 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they sizzle, add potatoes, peas, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes.

Divide the dough into 8 equal-sized portions and roll each portion into a thin circle. Cut the circle into two equal parts.

Take one half and fold it into a cone shape. Fill the cone with the potato-pea mixture. Apply water on the edges and seal the cone.

Heat oil in a deep pan over medium flame. Fry the samosas until golden brown and crispy. Serve hot with chutney.
