How To Make Strawberry Shortcake Recipe
A dessert made with layers of soft biscuits, whipped cream and fresh strawberries.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp of baking powder
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1/2 cup of cold butter, cubed
- 2/3 cup of milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 lb of fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream
- 2 tbsp of powdered sugar
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F.

In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.

Add in butter and mix with a pastry blender or using your fingertips until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.

Add milk, egg and vanilla extract, stir until well combined.

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and pat it to form a 8 inch circle. Cut into 8 wedges.

Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let it cool.

In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

To assemble, split each biscuit in half, and place a layer of whipped cream and fresh strawberries on the bottom biscuit, top with the other half biscuit and repeat the layers until you reach the top biscuit.

Serve immediately.
