A soft and fluffy sweet bread studded with chocolate chips, perfect for Easter brunch or celebrations.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk, lukewarm
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp milk
Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

Add lukewarm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until just combined.

Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.

Add chocolate chips and knead until well incorporated.

Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover. Let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.

Once risen, punch the dough to deflate it.

Divide the dough into 4 portions and shape into balls.

Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them rest for 10 minutes.

Brush with egg yolk and milk mixture.

Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
