How To Make Jalebi Recipe
A sweet and crunchy dessert made from fermented batter, fried and soaked in sugar syrup.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp gram flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- oil for frying
Instructions

In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, gram flour, baking powder and turmeric powder.

Add yogurt and warm water to make a thick batter. Cover and keep aside for 2 hours.

Heat oil in a pan. Put batter in a piping bag or a ziplock bag and snip off a small end. Squeeze out swirls of batter into the hot oil and fry till golden brown.

Heat sugar, water and cardamom powder in another pan until a syrup forms. Remove from heat and keep warm.

Soak the fried jalebis in the warm syrup for a few minutes. Serve hot or cold.
