How To Make Russet Potato and Mushroom Gratin Recipe

Creamy potato and mushroom dish topped with melted cheese.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.

  3. Add mushrooms and cook until tender.

  4. In a 9×9 inch baking dish, layer potato slices and mushroom mixture.

  5. Pour heavy cream over the top and sprinkle with cheese and bread crumbs.

  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

  7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown.

  8. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
