How To Make New Potato and Ham Casserole Recipe

A warm and comforting casserole featuring creamy new potatoes and savory ham.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb new potatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup cooked ham, diced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large saucepan, boil the sliced potatoes until tender, then drain and set aside.

  3. In a separate skillet, cook the ham until slightly browned, then remove from the heat.

  4. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat and whisk in flour until smooth. Gradually add the milk and garlic powder, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens.

  5. Add salt and pepper to taste, then stir in the cooked potatoes and ham.

  6. Transfer the mixture to a 9-inch baking dish and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.

  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
