Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- Slider buns, for serving
Instructions
-
In a slow cooker, place the pork shoulder and pour in the chicken broth. Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
-
While the pork is cooking, prepare the honey chipotle sauce. In a small saucepan, combine honey, minced chipotle peppers, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
-
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Add the cornstarch mixture to the honey chipotle sauce and simmer for an additional 2 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
-
Once the pork is cooked, shred it using two forks. Pour the honey chipotle sauce over the shredded pork and mix well.
-
Serve the pull-apart pork on slider buns with extra sauce on the side.
