Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the sweet potatoes and cook until fork-tender, about 15 minutes.

  2. Drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter, milk, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon.

  3. Use a hand mixer or potato masher to mash the sweet potatoes until smooth and creamy.

  4. Serve the silky sweet potato purée warm as a side dish.
