Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim the ends off the green beans and cut them in half.

  2. In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 2 minutes.

  4. Add the green beans to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. Pour in the chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, and sugar. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cover. Cook for 10 minutes, or until the green beans are tender.

  7. Remove the cover and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced slightly.

  8. Serve the green beans topped with the cooked bacon.
