How To Make Habanero Pepper Black Bean Soup
A spicy and hearty soup made with black beans, tomatoes, and habanero peppers.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 habanero peppers, seeded and finely chopped
- 2 cans black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 3 cups vegetable or chicken broth
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes.

Add chopped habanero peppers and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Add black beans, diced tomatoes, vegetable or chicken broth, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes.

Use an immersion blender or transfer soup to a blender to puree until smooth.

Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
