How To Make Roast Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing

Ingredients
- 1 whole turkey (8-10 lbs)
- 2 cups chestnuts, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried sage
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).

In a large bowl, combine the chestnuts, breadcrumbs, diced onion, diced celery, minced garlic, dried thyme, dried sage, salt, and pepper.

Stuff the turkey cavity with the chestnut mixture, packing it tightly.

Place the stuffed turkey on a rack in a roasting pan.

Brush the melted butter over the turkey, making sure to cover the entire surface.

Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.

Cover the turkey with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for 2 hours.

Remove the foil and continue roasting for an additional hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Allow the turkey to rest for at least 15 minutes before carving.

Serve the roast turkey with the delicious chestnut stuffing.
