How To Make Next Level Roast Turkey

Ingredients
- 1 (12-pound) turkey
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 garlic cloves, smashed
- 2 cups chicken or turkey broth
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

Rinse the turkey inside and out, then pat dry with paper towels.

In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, salt, black pepper, thyme, rosemary, sage, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Carefully loosen the skin of the turkey and rub half of the butter mixture under the skin. Rub the remaining butter mixture all over the outside of the turkey.

Stuff the turkey cavity with the quartered onion and smashed garlic cloves.

Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan. Pour the broth into the pan.

Roast the turkey for about 13 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste the turkey every 30 minutes with the pan juices.

Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
