Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 pound lump crab meat
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
-
In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
-
Sprinkle flour over the onions and garlic, and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to cook off the raw flour taste.
-
Slowly whisk in the chicken broth, ensuring there are no lumps. Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a simmer.
-
Add the crab meat, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper to the pot. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes.
-
Stir in the heavy cream and continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes.
-
Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
