How To Make Cabbage and Sausage Soup

Hearty and comforting soup with cabbage, sausage, and veggies.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 1 tsp. of thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Start by browning sausage in a large pot over medium heat.

  2. Remove sausage and set aside, leaving the fat in the pot.

  3. Add onion and garlic to the pot and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

  4. Next, pour in the chicken broth and stir in thyme.

  5. Add cabbage and carrots to the pot and continue cooking until vegetables are tender.

  6. Once vegetables are cooked, add the sausage back in and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes before serving.
