Ingredients
- 1 lb dried split peas, rinsed and drained
- 1 ham hock
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

In a crockpot, combine all ingredients.

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the peas are soft.

Remove the ham hock and shred the meat, then return it to the crockpot.
