How To Make Clam and Potato Chowder Recipe

A hearty and creamy soup made with tender potatoes and juicy clams, perfect for a comforting meal.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp of butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 3 tbsp of flour
  • 3 cups of chicken broth
  • 2 cups of potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp of dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 2 cans of chopped clams
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a soup pot over medium heat.

  2. Saute the onion, garlic, and celery until softened.

  3. Add the flour and stir until combined.

  4. Gradually pour in the chicken broth, stirring constantly.

  5. Add the potatoes, bay leaf, thyme, salt, and pepper.

  6. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

  7. Stir in the clams and heavy cream.

  8. Cook for another 10 minutes.

  9. Season to taste and garnish with parsley.
