Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 strips bacon, chopped
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups clam juice
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 can corn kernels, drained
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups crumbled cornbread
- 1 pound fresh clams, scrubbed and rinsed
Instructions

In a large soup pot, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add in the chopped bacon, onion, and garlic. Cook until the onion is tender and the bacon is crispy.

Sprinkle in the flour and stir to combine.

Gradually pour in the clam juice and heavy cream while stirring.

Add the corn kernels, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.

Toss in the crumbled cornbread and fresh clams. Cook until the clams open, about 5 minutes.

Discard any unopened clams. Serve hot and garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
