Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cans of tuna, drained
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes, milk, beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
-
Using your hands, shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the tuna balls in batches for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
-
Remove the tuna balls from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
-
Serve the Italian tuna balls warm as a delicious appetizer or as a topping for pasta or salads.
