Ingredients
- 4 fish fillets (such as cod or haddock)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beer
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 4 large potatoes (peeled and cut into chips)
- Salt (for sprinkling)
Instructions

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, beer, baking powder, and salt until smooth. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

In a large pan, heat vegetable oil for frying to 180°C (350°F).

Dip each fish fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then carefully place it into the hot oil. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with remaining fillets.

While the fish is frying, cook the chips in a separate pan of hot vegetable oil until golden and crispy. Remove and sprinkle with salt.

Serve the golden beer-battered fish with the crispy chips on the side.
