  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices of provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise and minced garlic to make the garlic mayo. Set aside.

  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. Add the sliced beef steak to the skillet and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Push the steak to one side of the skillet and add the sliced bell peppers and onions to the other side. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  6. Split the hoagie rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet. Toast them in the oven for about 5 minutes, until slightly crispy.

  7. Layer the cooked steak onto the bottom halves of the hoagie rolls. Top with the cooked bell peppers and onions.

  8. Place 2 slices of provolone cheese on each sandwich.

  9. Return the sandwiches to the oven and bake for about 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  10. Spread the garlic mayo on the top halves of the hoagie rolls.

  11. Place the garlic mayo-covered tops onto the sandwiches to complete them.

  12. Serve the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches with Garlic Mayo hot and enjoy!
