How To Make Slow-baked sticky gammon

Ingredients
- 1.5 kg gammon joint
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp whole grain mustard
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 500 ml apple juice
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).

Place the gammon joint in a large roasting pan and scatter the sliced onions and minced garlic around it.

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, honey, mustard, vinegar, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and pepper.

Pour the mixture over the gammon joint, making sure it is coated well.

Pour the apple juice into the roasting pan, around the gammon.

Cover the roasting pan tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours.

After 2 hours, remove the foil and baste the gammon with the juices in the pan.

Increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) and bake for another 1 hour, basting occasionally, until the gammon is sticky and caramelized.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
