Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork belly
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 cups apple cider
- 2 pears, peeled and sliced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).

In a large oven-safe skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Season the pork belly with salt and pepper, then sear it on all sides until browned.

Remove the pork belly from the skillet and set aside. Place the bay leaves in the skillet and pour in the apple cider. Bring it to a simmer.

Return the pork belly to the skillet and cover it with a lid or foil. Transfer it to the preheated oven and roast for 2 hours.

After 2 hours, remove the lid or foil and add the sliced pears to the skillet. Continue to roast uncovered for an additional hour or until the pork is tender and the pears are soft.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Slice the pork belly into thick pieces and serve with the cooked pears and sauce from the skillet.
