How To Make Spaghetti with Sardines

Ingredients
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (4.25 ounces) sardines in oil, drained
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions

Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant and translucent.

Add sardines to the skillet and break them up with a fork. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for 10 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
