How To Make Penne Pasta with Sausage and Peppers Recipe
This pasta dish is a delicious combination of spicy sausage and colorful bell peppers in a tomato-based sauce, served over penne pasta.

Ingredients
- 1 pound penne pasta
- 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
Instructions

Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente.

In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium-high heat until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, sauté the bell peppers, onion, and garlic until they are tender.

Add the red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.

Add the crushed tomatoes and cooked sausage to the skillet, and stir to combine. Simmer for about 10 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve the sausage and pepper sauce over the cooked penne pasta. Top with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
