How To Make Macaroni Cheese with Bacon & Pine Nuts

Ingredients
- 8 oz macaroni
- 6 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1/4 cup pine nuts
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions

Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.

In the same skillet, toast the pine nuts until golden. Remove and set aside.

In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.

Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.

Add the cooked macaroni, bacon, and pine nuts to the cheese sauce. Stir to combine.

Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until heated through.
