How To Make Lighter Spaghetti & Meatballs

Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 8 oz whole wheat spaghetti
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, parsley, basil, garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.

Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.

While the meatballs are cooking, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well.

Serve the meatballs and sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
