How To Make Classic Meat Lasagna

Ingredients
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top, slightly overlapping. Spread a layer of meat sauce over the noodles, followed by a sprinkle of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Repeat the layers two more times, ending with a layer of cheese on top.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
