Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Lingonberry jam, for serving
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.
-
Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
-
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
-
Slowly whisk in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
-
Stir in the heavy cream and return the meatballs to the skillet. Simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
-
Serve the turkey Swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam and garnish with fresh parsley.
