How To Make Instant Pot® Swiss Steak

Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds of round steak, cut into 4 pieces
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions

In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, and pepper. Dredge each piece of steak in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

Press the “Saute” button on the Instant Pot® and heat vegetable oil. Brown the steak on both sides, working in batches if necessary. Remove steak from the Instant Pot® and set aside.

Add onion and garlic to the Instant Pot® and saute until softened, about 3 minutes.

Stir in diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and paprika. Return the steak to the Instant Pot® and close the lid.

Set the Instant Pot® to Manual mode and cook on high pressure for 20 minutes.

Once the cooking time is complete, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes before performing a quick release.

Serve the Swiss steak over mashed potatoes or rice, spooning the sauce over the top.
