How To Make Instant Pot Sausage and Peppers Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 Italian sausages
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Set your Instant Pot to the sauté function and heat the olive oil.

  2. Add the sausages and brown them on all sides, then remove them from the pot.

  3. Add the onions, bell peppers, and garlic to the pot and sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.

  4. Add the diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, thyme, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir well.

  5. Nestle the sausages back into the pot, making sure they are partially submerged in the sauce.

  6. Pour the chicken broth over the sausages and vegetables.

  7. Close the Instant Pot lid and set the valve to the sealing position.

  8. Cook on high pressure for 15 minutes.

  9. Once the cooking time is complete, do a quick release of the pressure.

  10. Open the lid and serve the sausages and peppers hot.
