  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 pita breads
  • Tzatziki sauce, for serving
  • Tomato slices, for serving
  • Red onion slices, for serving
  • Lettuce leaves, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, oregano, thyme, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly incorporated.

  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.

  3. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the burgers for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  4. While the burgers are cooking, warm the pita breads on the grill for about 1-2 minutes per side.

  5. Once the burgers and pita breads are done, assemble the Gyros Burgers by placing a burger patty inside each pita bread. Top with tzatziki sauce, tomato slices, red onion slices, and lettuce leaves.

  6. Serve the Gyros Burgers warm and enjoy!
