How To Make County Hamburgers
Whip up delicious beef patties topped with melted American cheese and sandwiched between toasted white bread with this easy hamburgers recipe!

Ingredients
- 1lbground beef
- 1egg,large
- 1yellow onion,medium
- ¼tspgarlic powder
- 1tspkosher salt
- 1tspfreshly ground black pepper
- 2tbspunsalted butter
- 12slicewhite sandwich bread
- 12sliceamerican cheese
Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine the beef, egg, grated onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined. Form into thin patties.

Spread the butter on one side of each slice of bread.

Heat a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burgers for about 3 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels. Drain grease from skillet.

In the same skillet, place 6 slices of bread, butter side down. Top each with a slice of cheese, if desired, some onion slices, and a burger.

Top with remaining slices cheese, if using, and bread, butter side up. Cook each sandwich for about 2 minutes per side, until golden brown.

Serve with mustard, ketchup, pickles, or any other desired hamburger toppings.
