How To Make Ground Beef Casserole Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups cooked pasta (e.g. penne or elbow macaroni)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add the onion, garlic, bell pepper, and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are tender.

Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes.

In a greased 9×9 inch baking dish, spread half of the cooked pasta on the bottom.

Pour half of the ground beef mixture over the pasta. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese on top.

Repeat the layers with the remaining pasta, ground beef mixture, and mozzarella cheese.

Cover the casserole dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
