How To Make Baked Pork Chops with Swiss Chard

Grab a bite of this deliciously juicy and well-marinated baked pork chops cooked together with mildly sweet Swiss chard, for a belly-filling meal!

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1lbSwiss chard
  • 3tbspolive oil
  • ½tspsalt
  • fresh ground black pepper
  • 4pork chops
  • tbspparmesan,grated
  • 2ozfontina,(about ½ cup), grated

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 450 degrees F. Oil a 7½x11½-inch baking dish.

  2. In a medium bowl, toss the Swiss chard with 1 tablespoon of the oil, ¼ teaspoon of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of pepper. Put the chard in the baking dish.

  3. Rub the pork chops with 1 tablespoon of the oil, the remaining ¼ teaspoon salt, and ⅛ teaspoon of pepper. Put the pork chops on top of the Swiss chard.

  4. Drizzle the remaining tablespoon oil over the chard, around the pork chops. Sprinkle the Parmesan and fontina over the chard, around the chops.

  5. Bake for about 18 minutes until the chops are just done. Let stand 5 minutes.

  6. Serve warm, and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

For Swiss chard, either green or red Swiss chard can be for this dish. Make sure to rinse the leaves thoroughly before cooking, but don’t dry them. The moisture will help keep the chard from drying out during cooking.
