How To Make Lebanese-style Ground Lamb and Lentil Soup
This hearty soup is filled with flavorful spices, tender ground lamb, and protein-rich lentils.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground lamb
- 1 cup green lentils, rinsed and drained
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. ground coriander
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings: chopped fresh parsley, lemon wedges
Instructions

In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground lamb over medium-high heat until browned.

Add the onion and garlic and sauté until softened.

Stir in the tomato paste, cumin, coriander, and cinnamon and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Pour in the broth and add the lentils. Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30-35 minutes until the lentils are tender.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve hot with optional toppings, if desired.
