How To Make Saffron Rice

Fragrant and flavorful rice dish with the vivid golden hue of saffron.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups long grain rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp saffron threads
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear.

  2. In a small bowl, crush the saffron threads and soak them in 2 tbsp of hot water for 10 minutes.

  3. In a large pot, bring the water, salt, butter, and saffron water to a boil.

  4. Add the rice and stir well. Cover and reduce heat to low.

  5. Cook for 18-20 minutes, until the water is fully absorbed.

  6. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.

  7. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
