Ingredients
- 1 can (15 oz) of black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup of cooked quinoa
- 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup of chopped onion
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado
Instructions

In a large bowl, mash the black beans using a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth.

Add the cooked quinoa, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, soy sauce, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the bowl.

Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.

Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat.

Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and firm.

Toast the burger buns if desired.

Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, and adding your choice of toppings.
