How To Make Teriyaki Tofu with Charred Spring Onions

Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 4 spring onions
- 1/4 cup of teriyaki sauce
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions

Preheat your grill or broiler.

Cut the tofu into 1-inch thick slices and pat dry with paper towels.

In a bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce, vegetable oil, sesame oil, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch until well combined.

Brush the tofu slices with the teriyaki sauce mixture on both sides and set aside to marinate for a few minutes.

Trim the roots off the spring onions and cut them in half lengthwise.

Grill or broil the tofu slices and spring onions until charred and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Remove from heat and brush with more teriyaki sauce, if desired.

Serve the teriyaki tofu and charred spring onions over cooked rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
