- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar, for dusting
- 1 cup vanilla sauce, for serving
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.

Add warm milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal-sized portions. Shape each portion into a smooth ball.

Place the dumplings on a greased baking sheet, leaving some space between each dumpling.

Cover the dumplings with a damp towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat a large skillet over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, until golden brown on the bottom.

Flip the dumplings, reduce the heat to low, and cover the skillet with a tight-fitting lid. Cook for another 15-20 minutes, until the dumplings are cooked through and soft in the center.

Remove the dumplings from the skillet and dust with powdered sugar.
