Ingredients
- 2 cups of basmati rice
- 1 tablespoon of oil
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 4 cups of water
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions

Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

Add the rinsed rice, turmeric powder, and salt to the pan. Stir well to coat the rice with the spices.

Pour in the water and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 12-15 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.

Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
