Ingredients
- 1 can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices baguette
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions

In a large bowl, add the cannellini beans and use a fork or potato masher to smash them until semi-smooth.

Stir in the minced garlic, lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Preheat the broiler.

Brush the baguette slices with the remaining olive oil and place them on a baking sheet.

Broil the baguette slices for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.

Spread a spoonful of the smashed cannellini beans onto each baguette slice.

Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
